iMac 24″ Hardware configuration March 19, 2008

Here we are guyz 🙂

Let’s start from scratch looking at the iMac hardware specs: it will be useful to proper identify hardware peripherals and choose the right software and drivers for our beast!

Here is what I gathered from Internet about my 24″ Aluminium iMac (Mid 2007 – MA878LL):

Processor & Memory
  • Chipset: Intel 965
  • FSB: 800MHz
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 (2.4GHz)
  • Cache: 4MB shared L2 cache
  • RAM: 2GB (2x1GB) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300)
Graphics and Video
  • GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT with 256MB GDDR3 memory
  • Webcam: Built-in iSight (connected on USB)

From what I have seen over the Internet all the components are more or less supported both in Vista and Linux.
